Venera Arapu

Evening dresses created by Romanian designers using different fabrics: silk, lace, velvet, taffeta, viscose. The colors are various, for example white, red, pink, black, nude, violet. Among the designers you can find Mirela Diaconu, Elena Perseil, Aureliana, Pas Du Tout and Corina Vladescu.

Known for working with Alexander McQueen, Givenchy and Paule Ka, Venera Arapu created her eponymous brand in the late 1990s. ES’MOD graduate Venera received great acclaim in the Parisian fashion weeks and the trade shows. Creating apparel that is both conceptual and commercial, Venera Arapu’s success was imminent. Her garments have filled the rails at Galeries Lafayette in Paris, multibrands across the globe and its own corner at NYC’s Barney’s. Venera Arapu’s accessories line have graced the pages of Officiel magazine and her gowns have dressed VIFs (very important fashionistas).

For over two decades, Venera has been investigating the nature of femininity in modern society through her sartorial pursuit. Experimenting with a vast diversity of fabrics, themes and shapes, she has created a new signature look that takes its cue from the ethos of this day and age, technologically dependent, essentially nostalgic and informed by conspicuous consumption.
